Your journey begins with a comprehensive consultation to determine whether Invisalign is the most suitable treatment for your smile. We'll assess your teeth, bite and oral health, answer your questions and discuss your treatment goals before developing your personalised treatment plan.
Using our iTero Element® digital scanner, we'll create a precise 3D scan of your teeth, along with photographs and X-rays if required. ClinCheck® technology maps your tooth movement and shows you a preview of your new smile. Once approved, your custom Invisalign aligners are created.
When your aligners are ready, you'll return for your fitting. We'll make sure your aligners fit comfortably and show you how to wear, remove and care for them. In some cases, you may also be fitted with ‘Invisalign buttons’. These small, tooth-colored bumps made of composite resin are temporarily bonded to your teeth to allow for specific tooth movements.
A follow-up appointment a few weeks later allows us to check that everything is progressing as planned.
You’ll wear each set of aligners for about 20-22 hours per day, switching to a new set approximately every 1–2 weeks. Depending on your treatment plan, you may receive several aligners at once or collect them in stages as your treatment progresses.
Each set of aligners is typically worn for around two weeks before moving on to the next set. Unlike traditional braces, you won't need frequent adjustment appointments. Instead, we'll see you periodically to monitor your progress and ensure your treatment is staying on track.
Once your Invisalign treatment is complete, we'll help you keep your teeth in their new position with a retainer that's suited to your needs. This may include a removable retainer worn at night, a discreet fixed retainer behind your front teeth, or a combination of both.
